I have been able to get space before the Humane Society of Arizona?s meeting (it will be great if you want to stay and find out about volunteer opportunities to help animals in general with them or after that meeting, information to volunteer to help with rescue dogs specifically here locally). I apologize for the late notice, I was ill and challenged with getting back on line.

We will be meeting at 12:00-1:30 to talk about the difference between the two different groups. We will be showing one of Cesar?s Videos on Mastering Leadership Volume 1: People Training For Dogs DVD. As we begin to work on understanding how we contribute or pollute our relationship to dogs with our energy projection and how to detect the truth of where are energy is contributing to the problems.

There will be a self assessment and powerpoint for notes, so RSVPs are a must to get the materials (and one set per family please)..

We will be setting meetups at dog events such as adoptothons coming up with two specific aims in mind.
First, this environment is better then dog parks because there are many distractions in one small place which will show the truth of how you handle these kind of challenges with your dogs.

Second whether one, many or none show up (as have happened in the past) your organizers will be busy handing out information to people and helping with their new dog adoptees and current problem dogs.

We will be attending events around the valley over the next number of weeks and these will be posted with meetup times as soon as we confirm with event organizers BY this weekend.

The meetups will be set at these events for the problem dog meetup group (this one to work on issues like leash pulling, jumping, barking, charging, distractions, etc.

The second session for the Packleader, non-problem dog group will be focused on taking those skills and preparing to pass the AKC Canine Good citizen test.

We are going to have another yahoo chat from 4:30pm-6:30pm and again from 7:30pm-9:30pm Phoenix Time.

Our focus is going to be discussing rescue of the unique situations of handicapped dogs. There is a possibility of having a guest speaker of one of the most famous handicapped dogs at our chat. I will know within a day if he can attend one or both sessions. We will also talk about the other challenges that Cesar Millan has to deal with below and how it relates to us with our own dogs or while doing rescue fostering.

You may check back or I will be sending a reminder with updated information on Thursday. We also will be scheduling in person meetings now that the temps have dropped below 100 degrees.

Please can add me to your member list as both siegeanderson and safetyparadigms.

Siegeanderson is the one I issue the conference invatations to and safetyparadigms is my backup incase there is a problem like last time.

95% of dogs who will be life long handicapped are put down. What happens when the handicapped dog also becomes a bully (and we don?t mean the breed!)
Kiko, Tootsie & Ginger, and Binkey

When Bricil Madero moved in with her soldier sister on base at Camp Pendleton, she never imagined that her miniature pinscher Kiko would bully everyone in the house.

Binkey, a young Chihuahua mix born without her two front legs, won?t have anything to do the wheelchair her owners devised.

Writer and director Mike White had no problems controlling the set of his new film Year of the Dog, but at home, French bulldogs Tootsie and Ginger are out of control. Will Cesar be able to call the right shots, or is this an inevitable case of life imitating art?

You can get a sneak peak of this episode here:
http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/dogwhisperer/podcast.html

and while you are at it, browse his blog, and other pages with valuable information.
Check back for guest speaker update and RSVP to let us know if you will join us 9/21 on-line.

2007 Light A Candle, Save A Life!

Join us for the 3rd Annual My Dog Votes Worldwide Candlelight Vigil Against Breed Bans. In 2008 I will set up for us to meet for this in our local towns! Want to be more active for your area? See hyperlink below!

Innocent dogs are being seized from their owners and killed all over the world, solely because they are the "wrong breed". Family dogs are being seized and killled in Denver and Ontario, and neighbors are asked to turn neighbors in to the police in the UK and Germany.

Maricopa County - you WILL be charged with a felony if your dog gets loose or is on a longer then 6 foot leash!

Maricopa County - law enforcement can shoot into your fenced, secure back yard as long as they feel "threatened" by your dog(s).

State of Arizona - no "one bite forgiveness law".

Innocent dogs are being seized and killed in China, and South America and Australia - where does this madness end?

Dog lovers around the world helped make the 2006 My Dog Votes Candlelight Vigil Against Breed Bans a huge success - with 52 locations around the world, from New York to New Zealand, and locations in China from Kunming to Beijing.

This year will be even bigger, as our goal is to sign up at least 100 locations worldwide to help shed light on the shameful practice of breed bans and other breed discrimination.

Save the Date - Sunday, August 19, 2007, 8 PM for the 2007 My Dog Votes Candlelight Vigil Against Breed Bans.

Come together with dog lovers worldwide to Light a Candle, Save A Life, and tell the world to stop killing innocent dogs!

This year, just take time in your home with your dogs and family to give thanks that here, the laws are not worse then they are!
