Hi everyone, I am not sure if this is the correct venue to do this and apologize if it isn't, but I am new to Toronto and do not know if there is a rescue group that can help me, but any assistance will be appreciated.

I have come to know of a dog that is only two, a collie mix that has gone blind, the owner is moving on the 15th of July and is putting the dog down as it has become aggressive she says. She is allowing me to go see the dog this weekend and I do know dogs, dogs that go blind can be aggressive if not taught how to deal with their conditions, she has had the dog locked in the back yard now for over a year. Does any one know of a place I can put him until I can either help him or get help for him? I would take him in a minute but have "over the limit" of animals according to the city and he needs to be worked with.

I am in Scarborough, Toronto area

Yes there is THS but keep trying! What kind of person leaves a dog locked in a back yard, it goes blind, then wonders why it's agressive? Is she stupid? I mean really, heartless is more like it. I have 4 rescue dogs in my rental and apparently I have broken the law. But you know what, anyone with a heart, will do what it takes to save this animal. Take him in, you won;t have police officers showing up at your door, they have bettter things to do. Good luck! Let's find a way to save him!

Sorry guys, the end was not good. They knew I was coming to get him on Sunday, but put him down on the Thursday without letting me know. I am devastated, the whole neighborhood is upset. They are moving tomorrow, they claim that there was no help for the dog.

Thanks for the effort though.

Hi Sharon,

Are you already get him now?
If not, I can help to keep him this few days until you ready to get him.
Let me know if you need my help.
