A few months ago Great Dane Rescue Inc. took in a Great Dane who had been hit by a car and his owner could not afford treatment. Zeus is one handsome 2-3 year old merle male who has made the absolute best of a tough situation. Zeus' official diagnosis was: 1. Comminuted articular fracture of the distal tibia and fibula with soft tissue swelling 2. Mild stifle osteoarthritis 3. Reduced soft tissue swelling Zeus was surgically treated where a total of 5 pins and two screws were placed in his leg. Zeus was treated at Michigan State University and as you can imagine, surgery, x-rays and multiple vet visits have racked up vet bills quite quickly. Zeus is on the road to recovery thanks to the exceptional care of his foster mom Andi, and is hoping to get his cast off in the very near future, but still has several vet visits to make and hurdles to cross in his journey.
